ALOHA LEI LUAU

Date: January 28, 2005
Event: Aloha Lei Luau Part II
Place: Legazpi Stake Center - Legazpi City, Albay

They greeted us with a lei and everyone just seemed to have this very warm smile on their faces.  Surprised to see a few good old acquaintances.  Tropic Music.  It was Ladies Preference Night.  She was looking beautiful. Hugged her close and danced the night away.  The rest is for keeping.

A special thank you to Edwin Malit for the invitation.  A good father who will always be remembered.

NEW YEAR COUNTDOWN

Date: December 31, 2004
Event: New Year Countdown for 2005
Place: Ayala Avenue - Ninoy Aquino Monumental

It was right in front of the office building.  I stepped out and watched the band Bamboo hit the strings for about an hour.  They so rock!  I got me one of those light sticks for just 10.00 PHP and waited for the countdown back in the building.  A couple of hours and we all came down to see the fireworks.

I was looking at something gorgeous but it wasn’t the fireworks.

ANOTHER CHRISTMAS PARTY

Date: December 19, 2004
Event: Company Christmas Party
Place: Shangri-la Hotel Makati

No beer for me. Live bands. Kiss the girls a Merry Christmas. Pig out on food and act like you don’t know what’s going on. It was good to have spent time with my friends again.

X’MAS @ FOURTH WARD

Date: December 18, 2004
Event: Ward Christmas Program
Place: Parang Chapel - Open Garden

I hosted the program this year with a new partner.  Chai.  She’s been facilitating Christmas programs in the past so we didn’t have problems working together.  It was a little difficult though since it was a different auxiliary that makes-up the Program Committee.  Altogether though, it was fun seeing different families share a common cheer.

PS: The SA Organization rendered a bootie-shaker. It was fun watching ‘em!

THE GREATEST SUCCESS IN THE WORLD

Author: Og Mandino
Publisher: The Bantam Books © 1981

Start Date: December 01, 2004
End Date: January 09, 2004

"I have to warn thee in advance. The words you are about to read may put an end to your life.”

These opening remarks had me conclude that it is indeed the right read to start my month.  After all, this long-anticipated next from Og Mandino’s list of pancakes has been out there for more than ten years now! Darn, where have I been!  Anyway, so I have no idea why it's just now that I'm reading this but I guess the author knew better.

"Above all, exercise patience – and hear me out. We were brought together, you and I, for some purpose. Who can know God’s plan for us? Who can explain the mystery of why you are reading these words at this particular moment in your life rather than the words of another?”

Post-script (14-January): It took me 4-hours to read the whole book but more than a month to find those few hours.  I have my regrets!  This is worth the read.  Highly recommended for those who seeks a confirmation of what really matters in this lifetime.
